Concrete Stair & Step Repair and Resurfacing in Northeast Ohio

NEO Surface repairs and resurfaces cracked, chipped and worn concrete steps across Northeast Ohio with ARDEX systems.

Inspect: We check for movement, hollow spots, cracks and failed edges.

Crack and joint repair: Cracks are routed and filled. Broken nosings and edges are rebuilt with repair mortar.

Prime: An ARDEX primer bonds the new material to the old concrete.

ARDEX overlay or coating: A cement-based ARDEX overlay is applied to treads and risers.

Seal: A sealer protects the steps from water, salt and freeze-thaw damage.

Can cracked concrete steps be resurfaced? Yes, if the steps are structurally sound. We repair cracks and chipped edges first, then bond an ARDEX overlay to the old concrete.

When do concrete steps need to be replaced instead? Steps need replacement when they are sinking, pulling away from the house or broken through. We check for this during the free estimate.

How much does step resurfacing cost? Step and stair resurfacing runs $250 to $500 per step in Northeast Ohio. Cracks, chipped edges and the finish you choose set the price.

Do you repair commercial and historic stairs? Yes. We restored the exterior stairs at the Trumbull County Carnegie Law Library in Warren, Ohio, in October 2026.

How long does a step repair take? Most residential front steps are finished in one to two days. Commercial stairs are scheduled around building access.
